Rick Perry’s religious campaign..

My first reaction to this advertisement was how could anyone say “I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm a Christian, but you don't need to be in the pew every Sunday to know there's something wrong in this country when gays can serve openly in the military” when Rick Perry has been in the military and has probably served along with someone who was gay. Sexual preference does not make something wrong in this country; gays have earned the right to openly admit their sexual preference in whatever job they do.  And to make it worse Rick Perry says “but our kids can't openly celebrate Christmas or pray in school.”  Rick Perry is comparing two different issues and trying to make them both seem alike. Being openly gay is not the same as favoring a holiday in schools that only one religion celebrates. If you want your kids to celebrate a holiday openly then put your kids in a Christian school instead of a school that respects every religion. 

Over my break

Over my winter break I didn’t do very much. I rented The Help and Everything Must Go. I loved The Help but Everything Must Go was a slow depressing movie on how a guy was an alcoholic that has just lost his job and his wife left him. The guy comes home to all of his stuff out on his front yard and the locks changed on his house. After a night of binge drinking the guy realizes that he must sell his stuff and that is the end of his movie.  It was two hours of my life I will never get back. After Christmas I shopped online for the rest of my week.  

George Bush…

George Bush is probably one of the dumbest people I have ever seen in politics. I don’t know how he ended up as the president.  Even his vice president Dick Cheney was the worst person he could have picked to run with him because he shot a guy in the face. George Bush did not have any real plan to fix anything in America. I think he just wanted to be president again.

Although Rick Perry was anticipated to be one of the top presidential hopefuls, he has not been very successful. Rick Perry has been messing up left and right. Do you really want a president who doesn’t know how to speak to express his ideas in fixing our nation? Rick Perry messed up on the drinking age; a fourteen year old knows the laws better than Rick Perry. Rick Perry was Governor of Taxes and he should probably just go back to being in the shadows of other politicians.

Sarah Palin

One of the people that I do not think should be in politics would have to be Sarah Palin. I think Sarah Palin was the down fall to John McCain’s campaign.   Many people want Sarah Palin to run for president this next upcoming election, but I think people are only asking her to because they want to see what stupid thing she will do or say next.  None of the other politicians take Sarah Palin seriously and why should they? And for that matter why should we?  She has repeatedly made herself look stupid by the things she has said and done.

I am thankful for....

I am thankful for my friends. My friends have pretty much gotten me through everything that has happened in my life. Although one of my friends is moving in two weeks, we have had some pretty fun times and some pretty weird conversations. Our conversations usually happen at lunch and are about the things that would spoil your appetite. These conversations can range from what you like to eat your Mac n’ Cheese with to how funny it is when you hear people cry. My friends have gotten me through a lot of the hard things in life but I would still laugh at them if they fell down the stairs and then help them back up.

2012 Republican Candidates

 

The 2012 candidates for the republicans have so far been pretty interesting. But Herman Cain is probably one of the worst republican candidates running for president. He has not been in the news for his 9-9-9 plan or for his political views but only for the allegation against him.         

Herman Cain should not even be able to run for president. Sure he is ahead in the recent poles but that is only because of the controversy that has come with his campaign. Herman Cain has only gotten attention from the media about the allegations against him.
